Yesterday Wyatt had a spa day, he is very handsome now. At least I think so. I cut his mane to prepare for pulling it. So, for now, it's fairly embarassing looking. Part of my reasoning was if it looked that bad, I'd be more likely to actually follow through and pull it. I think first I will band it to train it to the "right" side. I don't know why I'm telling you all this.. 99% of my theoretical readers don't ride horses.
I had planned an exciting day trip last weekend for my "random day trip a month." My truck was in the shop and did not feel like going to Nebraska with the rental was an awesome idea. The truck is back, but they didn't fix anything because they can't get it to do it anymore. So, I can't wait for it to break down again... I did camp with Natasha and Caleb on Sunday night though and that was nice. We went fishing... I forgot how much I enjoy it, but sadly I did not catch anything. I did have quite a few worms stolen however. Jerks.
Kristin and I have been running a few times a week and it is getting easier. Well, I don't know if it is getting easier at all, but I am able to run longer (slowly but surely). As long as I don't run with my dog, I don't get shin splints. I hadn't had shin splints since our first run until Thursday. Took cooper and BAM... OW! My right shin is a little unhappy with me. I know that no matter how fast I run, he would always want to run faster. But I think our immediate problem is that he has very long legs and I have very short legs and so he pulls a bit (lot) to get me to go at a pace that he can comfortably do and it is too much for me at this point. That's my hypothesis, I'll let you know how the testing goes.
I wore a dress to church last week. That makes dressing up for church 2/2. Success! Unfortunately the next time I wear jeans, people are going to be so used to my nice clothes, they'll be shocked by my dressing down. Sigh. Anyhow, tomorrow makes week 3 of dressing up. I already have my outfit planned. I guess once you get better at this whole dressing up thing, you don't have to plan in advance. Or maybe advanced planning helps people to dress consitently nice? I don't know. I wore khakis to work this week and also a sweater (seperate days), so maybe I am doing better in all parts of my wardrobe. Don't get your hopes up.
I have used my purse every day ever since I got it. Huge. I almost kind of like it now. It's amazing how dependent I've become on it. Although, I hate Hate HATE when it eats my keys and I have trouble finding them. This happens at least twice daily.
Washing my sheets every week. Fail. Maybe I'll shoot for every 2...
Reading more? Negative. Although I did read almost the entire book "101 Longeing and Long Lining Exercises -- A Ringside Guide." It's pretty easy reading ... half of it is pictures and the text is just descriptions of the pictures/diagrams. Wyatt is in trouble!! I have lots of exercise ideas that I hadn't thought of/forgotten. Ha. Ha. Ha. :)
Better dedicating myself to my responsibilities? Not really. Although I did actually do schoolwork for over 3 hours today. That's probably more than I did in the last 5 days. Definitely more than I did outside of my office. I've also been out to my horse twice this week. He is both pleasure and responsibility. Something about horses relying on us? It's hard to say whether or not he minds... I need to get out there more to work on some of our bad habits (cough begging cough).
I guess I'm off to be productive. Sweet. I like writing all this down. It keeps me grounded in these goals.

I have a tip for your shin splints from my cross country days...if you're "road running" try to run some on the grass. The grass will slow you up but does wonders on the shins.
Good job with your goals!!!!
we run on the linear trail.. which is like little pea gravel.. i do a lot better with that than the road
