Things that I find Awe-some

Inspired by www.1000awesomethings.com, I've decided to come up with my own list. I thought a lot about the idea while I was driving to and from Beatrice today. Some people think that the joys found in little things is weird... or at least think it's weird when people find optimism in these things. However, I think that the effect can be profound. It is my aim to add to this continually. Because let's be honest, sometimes it's nice to look on a list of things that bring us great joy when we're having a tough day. Because, really, we're blessed! and life is never that bad :)

1. When Cooper rests his head on my lap and looks up with his wide, pathetic eyes.
2. When the kitten runs into walls.
3. Waking up and realizing that I can actually sleep a little while longer.
4. Wild goat chases.
5. The smell of rain.
6. Thunderstorms (without tornadoes).
7. Wide, sprawling landscapes.
8. The distinct smell of the ocean. (and the sound).
9. The puff when a horse quietly sighs.
10. Miles of fence-lined hills.
11. That moment after weightlifting where your muscles are completely and utterly spent.
12. That tiny window when the sun hugs the horizon.
13. Harvest moons.
14. The smell and sound of a campfire.
14a. Acoustic guitar around a campfire (or anytime)
14b. Acapella singing around a campfire.
15. Waking up curled tight in the blankets when the room is cold.
16. That first fresh, crisp sip of a cold beer.
17. Driving down the road with the windows down and the music up.
18. Sitting at the end of a dock with your toes in the water.
19. The moment right before you fall asleep.
20. When I'm laying on the couch and Cooper gets himself under the covers and sleeps on me (weird, I know.. but it's comforting).
21. Getting a phonecall from that person you've been meaning to call, but haven't gotten to yet.
22. Snail mail from a real person (not a bill).
23. Sitting on the water in an innertube.
24. Rain on a tin roof.
25. Baking chocolate chip cookies.
26. Watching Dan graze peacefully.
27. When the sky is made up of all pastels.

TBC.
